    1:31 you should …
    1:31 you should never!!! bang the barbell off your chest like that, you could have a calcium build up on the (chest/sternum wherever) and you will have a lump of gristle underneath the chest “muscle”

    Its called a suicide grip, most proffesionals and/or experienced bodybuilders use that type of grip. Ive never really understood why myself.

    it’s called a false …
    it’s called a false grip. a lot of powerlifters used this type of grip also. it helps to keep the ball more in line with your wrist, to give more support from the wrist, and less stress on the wrist from the normal thumbs around bar grip. but, this grip can and is very unstable. the false grip is also used on a lot of pulling movements. chins, rows or pulldowns.

    I notice on bench …
    I notice on bench press and shoulder press he has his thumb behind the bar rather than wrapping around the bar, does anyone know the reason for this type of grip?

    @JoNo1907
    Now …

    @JoNo1907
    Now that I think about it, thats not really a shrug, even though the video calls it that. Those are more like reverse grip rows. I think he’s doing it to stimulate the delts along with a little bit of trap envolvement. Seems a bit rotator risky to me, or like it could feel kinda uncomfortable. Personally, I probably won’t add that into my shoulder workout, but I will attempt some reverse grip barbell shrugs on the Smith machine to see if it provides me with any muscle shock growth.

    I …

    @JoNo1907
    I haven’t tried them like that, but then again, I don’t do barbell shrugs anyway. I always do dumbell shrugs, because I want to make sure that each trap is working equally.I’ve actually got impressive traps too considering my strength. I just grab some 85’s and hold them at my sides like I’m hammer curling, and shrug all the way up and hold it for at least a two seconds, and lower slowly, then repeat for 10 reps. I will try this though because it can’t hurt.

    Its better to do …
    Its better to do biceps and triceps on the same day, without chest, because chest indirectly stimulates triceps and biceps.

    if you mean BP as …
    if you mean BP as in bench presses. yes its ok. as long as you arent bench pressing one day and then the next day working tricep. you would then be interrupting the recovery of your triceps. lots of people train chest and tricep in one day. personally i make a whole day for chest. and then another day ill do bicep and tricep just because i want to be able to attack my triceps and biceps with full exertion. i dont want my triceps to be sore after chest workouts and have to work with sore triceps.
